Elliot’s take on the compassionate biker Gar received all kinds of attention and acclaim, helping to shoot him into the realm of superstardom with other acting greats. Because of his rugged good looks and tough personality, Sam Elliot always seemed to go back to country roots in the film industry. He was chosen for all kinds of western film, including Tombstone, The Desperate Trail, and You Know My Name. In 2007, the actor was actually inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers! There was just something about this actor that looked great in a cowboy hat. At the end of the day, Elliot didn’t seem to mind the stereotype.
