Too Sick for Set
Sam Elliot was going to play the lead role as the defense attorney, and people couldn’t wait to see how he would portray the role. Unfortunately, the man came down with a serious illness, which stopped him from making it to set. James Brolin would later replace him, since there was no way to pause production for the film. The movie still went on to do well, but there’s no way to know how it would have played out if Elliot stuck around for the role.

It was six years after they began dating that Sam finally asked Katherine to marry him. She happily agreed, and the pair tied the knot with friends and family. It was 1984, and Katherine was in her fifth marriage. Though the pair seemed a little strange together, they were certain that this was going to be Katherine’s last wedding. In the same year of their wedding, Katherine fell pregnant with their first and only child. They would name her Cleo Rose Elliot.
