A Fated Meeting
It wasn’t long before Katie got a letter from her church informing her of an upcoming class on being a foster parent. The class would cover the process and responsibilities of being a foster parent, and it would introduce the prospective foster parents to some of the children in need of foster care. Katie was instantly sold on the idea of fostering. She couldn’t look at these children with nowhere to go and do nothing.
She Made Her Choice
On Mother’s Day of 2015, Katie filled out the paperwork that would allow her to become a foster mother. After so many struggles, Katie finally felt like her life was going the way she wanted it to. Up until this point, she had felt lost. She was divorced, working a new job, and living in an unfamiliar city. This gave her a sense of control over her life and a sense of purpose.
