While most of us don’t think too much about the billboards that we pass on a regular basis. In the 1940’s, billboards were set up by hand with painters creating the murals on there, often with a live model up there with them. This death-defying job was replaced by printers, and we think that it’s better for everyone’s safety.

Young Bob Ross
Most of us are familiar with Bob Ross from his relaxing art instruction TV show, The Joy of Painting, that ran from 1983 until 1994. That’s why it’s pretty jarring to see him as a young military master sergeant while in the US Air Force. He began painting while there, painting during short breaks. Following his 20 years military career, he pursued art full time.
