McKayla could finally do something less stressful and more enjoyable, trading gymnastics for acting. She claimed that you only got one shot in gymnastics, but you can do it over again and again with acting. In a sense, you got multiple chances as an actor.

Though she liked acting because it was quite expressive, she pursued music, too. She claimed that she had to figure out her sound but had enjoyed writing songs when she was younger. Initially, she wanted to sell them, and then chose to sing them herself!
