Retiring from Gymnastics
McKayla announced in 2016 that she was officially retiring for medical reasons. Because of her newfound fame and online presence, she could switch to show biz. Since she was used to making such big leaps, she was sure she could accomplish her goals.

Maroney chose to get out of the sports world and chose entertainment. She was in Hart of Dixie, a television show that was popular in 2012. From there, she appeared in other shows and a promo video for a music video. That’s when she decided that a solo music career was what she wanted!
