Daisy saw that John walked to the side of the house to peek into the windows. He turned and shouted something in her direction, but she couldn’t hear because the car windows were up. Foolishly, she opened them.

The dog had been waiting for her to open the car window. When she did, it jumped into her lap and out onto the lawn. In fact, the dog was gone before Daisy even realized what had happened.
