Maggie had been curious about her husband’s past for as long as she’d known him. She loved him dearly, even though he wouldn’t speak about the time before they got married. She couldn’t even answer basic questions about him.
When they moved to their home, he required a separate office for his things. She agreed to that, but he told her never to enter the room. It was an odd request, but she considered it one of his many quirks and thought nothing of it.
However, after he died, she had to look inside his office and found a safe. This changed her entire outlook and made her question her husband’s motives even more.
