The officer ordered a green salad and a glass of water. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief when she was done with what she felt was an awkward encounter. However, she sensed that she was still looking at her as she headed towards the kitchen, continuing her uneasy feeling.

Courtney realized as she came back out from the swing doors of the kitchen that the diner was slowly filling up. In fact, she saw another couple sitting in the booth right behind the officers’ booth. She made her way over to them, introduced herself, and took their order.
