Bad Habits
Photographer William Claxton claimed that McQueen smoked marijuana every single day. Marc Eliot, a biographer, also claimed that McQueen was a heavy cocaine user in the 1970’s. Additionally, McQueen heavily smoked cigarettes and often drank to excess. He was even arrested for drunk driving in 1972 in Anchorage, Alaska.

McQueen did not hide his political views and during the 1964 United States presidential election he openly supported Lyndon B. Johnson. Later during the 1968 presidential election he supported Richard Nixon.
