Facts Don’t Matter
The Great Escape has to be McQueen’s most famous film, which focuses on a POW camp in WWII. In one scene, he eludes Nazis by stealing a motorbike and jumping fences. Though it wasn’t fact, he refused to be part of the film unless they included the stunt.
Stunt Trouble
Everyone knew McQueen loved motorcycles and couldn’t get enough. Therefore, he played a Nazi chasing his own character on a motorbike in The Great Escape. Still, he couldn’t crash the bike, so Bud Edkins, a professional stuntman, did it for him.
