Engineering the Lake

Authorities went on to say that the engineers who designed the lake had added some very important aspects to it; some that other lakes did not include. Engineers had to be sure that the lake would never flood, which could cause all kinds of problems for the surrounding towns and the surrounding roads that were located very close by. A Spillway

If water levels got too high, the dam would need something called a spillway to counteract the rising levels. With that in mind, the engineers of this dam built a very unique spillway in the blueprints. In most cases, spillways are built right into the wall of the dam; however, this wasn’t going to be the case for this particular dam. Something unique had to be created if the spillway was going to work properly.
