Despite his initial trepidation, Luke was actually called into the principal’s office for a good reason. The principal knew a reporter that was interested in hearing more about Luke’s project. That is a seriously impressive feat for anyone, let alone a 13 year old.

During the whole construction process, Luke learned many lessons, but perhaps one of the most valuable was the one about learning to overcome disappointment, since a lot of things didn’t go as planned. He shared his counter top “fail,” which involved using broken colored glass for a lacquer surface. When he poured the lacquer, it was too runny and didn’t work well.
