Queen Elizabeth I
Queen Elizabeth I ruled England and Ireland between 1558 and 1603. She was the daughter of Henry VII and Anne Boleyn, and though she was delegitimized once her parents’ marriage was annulled, she ascended the throne just a few years afterwards. There are endless portrayals of the queen in portraits and paintings.
What Queen Elizabeth I Really Looked Like
In 2018, artist Mat Collishaw decided to make a lifelike recreation of what she looked like. Using 3D technology, he was able to created a realistic animatronic mask with moving eyes and mouth. The mask is displayed at the Queen’s House along with the Armada portrait.
