Child Labor Laws Were Changed

The British film industry actually made amendments to child labor laws in order to accommodate the Harry Potter filming schedule. Before the film began production the rules were four hours of filming per day and a minimum of three extra hours for schoolwork for a cast made up to 10 and 11 year olds. However, some rules were changed to add a few extra working hours and made the on-set schoolwork more flexible.

In order to prepare filming the Yule Ball scenes in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the cast had to go through dance lessons. Most of the cast went through three weeks of dance classes, but Daniel Radcliffe only had a few lessons since he had quite a busy filming schedule. In fact, in the Yule Ball scenes, he is filmed only from the waist up because of this.
