Moon Landing
The US’ Apollo 11 was the very first crewed mission that landed on the Moon, with a grand total of just 12 men who have walked on the surface of the Moon. Most famously, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first and second people to ever walk on the Moon. There are plenty of conspiracy theories that claim the moon landing was a hoax, but there is plenty of empirical evidence out there to prove that the landings did actually take place.
Practicing The Water Egress
Here we see the Apollo 1 crew practiced the water egress procedure with a full-scale model of the spacecraft in June 1966. In the photo are astronauts Ed White, Roger Chaffee, and Gus Grisson. NASA swimmers help them during the practice session. Tragically, the crew died on a fire aboard the spacecraft during launch rehearsal in January 1967.
