Appenzeller Sennenhund
The Appenzeller Mountain Dog, also known as the Appenzeller Sennenhund or Appenzell Cattle dog is an energetic, agile, and fearless dog. They are muscular and always ready for plenty of activity. They do need a lot of open space to run around in to get their energy out, but since they are quite intelligent, you can train them as search and rescue dogs as well. They are weary of strangers, so they are not easy to bribe, making them great guard dogs.
Anatolian Shepherd
Anatolian Shepherd dogs are very tall, standing at 2.5 feet up to the shoulder. That makes them also pretty heavy, weighing an average of 150 pounds that is mostly made up of muscle. They were originally bred to protect flocks, and their ancestors date back to the Bronze Age. They are excellent guardian dogs that are wary of strangers, so they need to be properly socialized and trained.
