Nothing screams “it’s officially fall!” like a delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte, affectionately known as “PSL”, Starbucks’ signature autumn-inspired drink that has taken the world by storm.
A PSL is the perfect companion to flannel-clad pumpkin patch cavorting, complimenting the sweater-weather with a sweet and warm comforting aroma and flavor. Besides, Starbucks is known for providing adorably decorated cups that are ready for the ‘gram.
While the drink is known as the official libation of autumn, this year, PSL fans may have the opportunity to enjoy their favorite drink even earlier than originally anticipated. Many Starbucks employees have taken to Twitter and Reddit to share whispers about when the drink will be making its awaited return, with many stating that August 27th will be its release date.
One Redditor shared, “Boss told me August 27th. Not 100% sure though.” For comparison’s sake, last year, the PSL was officially brought back on August 28th, and in both 2017 and 2016, the drink made a comeback on September 5th. It seems that the re-release date keeps creeping back a few days each year. Perhaps this could mean that one day we could all enjoy a PSL year-round?

If your pumpkin craving is getting you down, you’ll be able to enjoy a literal hot second of pumpkin beverage, as Dunkin Donuts will be releasing their pumpkin-flavored concoction on August 14th for a preview, before the seasonal drink returns for the full season on August 24th.
If you still need more to quench your pumpkin cravings, you can also find Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Creamer, pumpkin K-Cups, pumpkin spice cookie straws (delicious and environmentally friendly!), and even ready-to-enjoy PSL’s at various grocery stores around the country.
