Chicken meatballs don’t get enough love, especially since meatballs are such a beloved staple. However, you can enjoy chicken meatballs for a deliciously decant dinner that is elevated with a bit of cumin to take things to the next level. Pair them with a spicy mayo, and you’ll be reaching for seconds in no time. You can also throw these in the air fryer to make things easier and crispier.
What You Need
1 lb. ground chicken
1 egg
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan
1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 cloves of garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon cumin
Kosher salt
ground pepper
a pinch of red pepper flakes
For the sauce:
1/2 cup mayo
2 tablespoons hot sauce
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon cumin
What To Do
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and grease a baking dish with oil or cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken, egg, cheese, panko, soy sauce, garlic, and cumin. Season as desired with salt, pepper, and red chili pepper flakes. Take a small handful of the mixture and roll into a ball. Continue until you have made meatballs out of the whole mixture.
Place them on the prepared baking sheet and bake until they are golden brown and fully cooked through, which will take about 15 minutes.
For the air fryer:
Place the rolled meatballs into the air fryer in batches and bake at 400 degrees F until they are golden, for about 12 minutes. Make sure to flip the meatballs halfway through. Continue until they are all finished.
In a medium bowl, combined the mayo, hot sauce, honey, and cumin until well incorporated.
Serve the meatballs with the mayo for dipping alongside rice, veggies, and anything else.
